Welcome to Goodness to Glow! I’m so happy that you have taken the time to visit; I hope you love this space of goodness, as much as I do. | This is me, Kristina, a 19 yr old, Aussie, university student and whole food lover with a strong passion for all things health & wellness.
I strongly believe that Good Health begins with Good Food; it should be delicious, nutritious and make you feel so good, you glow.
I guess you could call me a foodie. Growing up, I watched both my mum and grandmother cook up a storm in the kitchen; they always had home cooked meals on the table and I definitely have them to thank for my love of cooking. However, baking is something I grew very fond of and it still holds a special spot in my heart. In fact, I loved it so much at one point that I decided I wanted to be a cake decorator when I grew up; can we just take one moment to imagine all the sugar that would involve! But in all seriousness, for me baking is therapeutic. Although I no longer enjoy traditional baking, with white flour, refined sugar and lots of butter, I do love healthifying classic recipes to make them more nutrient dense. Baking really helps me destress and just live a little; making a huge mess in the kitchen every now and again is half of the fun, right?
I created this space to share my passions, in the hope of inspiring others to lead a healthier wholesome life. I believe that life should be full of goodness. A healthy lifestyle shouldn’t be a chore, or something you feel as though you ‘have’ to do. It should be about creating healthy habits; it should come naturally and be sustainable.
I feel my best when I incorporate as many whole-plant based foods into my diet as possible. This means lots of veggies, fruits, nuts + seeds, legumes + beans, whole grains and of course quinoa (which gets its own category because it is that good). I only eat gluten, dairy and meat occasionally because I listen to my body. I crave healthy food because that is what my body thrives on and I eat what I want, when I want. I limit processed foods as much as possible (yes that includes the ‘healthy’ brands too). I would much rather make something from scratch and know what I am putting into my body, than to consume a product that has an ingredient list full of chemicals, thickeners, hydrogenated oils and flavourings. I love my body so I strive to provide it with the best I can and I know that it will thank me for it later.
